There is food shopping within walking distance and supermarkets are a five minute drive away.

Beaches
There are long stretches of sandy beaches at Fuengirola, 10 minutes away by car or bus, and many other lovely beaches and coves, such as Puerto Cabapino, stretching along the coast towards Marbella and beyond.

Sports
Tennis can be played at Lew Hoad Tennis Club on its magnificent courts, surrounded by tropical vegetation and Moorish-style aquatic ponds and wildlife. There is also a hair/beauty salon, fitness gym, and a physiotherapist available. There are regular tournaments and mix-ins for our guests to enter.

Golf
This part of Spain is known as the ‘Costa del Golf’ as there are eight or nine well-known courses within easy reach. Mijas Golf Club is the closest, about 10 minutes away by car.

Water sports of all kinds are on nearby beaches and horse riding in wild countryside is available for more advanced riders.

Entertainment
Bustling Fuengirola, with its beautiful ‘Old Town’ architecture, churches and squares; its Harbour and shops, Tuesday open air market, tapas bars, restaurants, discos and nightclubs is a ‘must see’.

The pretty pueblo of Mijas, one of Andalucia’s ancient White Villages, with its narrow cobbled streets, museum, art gallery, ceramics, restaurants and fabulous views, is an enjoyable outing.

Travel
Car hire companies are located close to Malaga Airport where you will be met and taken to your car. There are numerous taxis and a frequent train to Fuengirola.

There is an excellent half-hourly local bus which travels continuously between Fuengirola and Mijas and stops at the end of our driveway. All areas along the coast can be easily visited from the apartments. The main bus station at Fuengirola is the starting point for many interesting places along the coast and inland. Gibralta, Ronda and Granada are day-trips and Marbella, Nerja and sophisticated Puerto Banus are a 40 minute drive away.

Climate
This part of Spain can be visited at any time of the year. The sun nearly always shines enabling tennis and golf to be played year round. The summers are hot, up to the 90s, autumn and spring are really wonderful times and the winters are mild in daytime, in the 60s at least, and cool at night, light jackets being needed.

If you are looking for somewhere away from the noise, hassle and high rise apartment blocks on the coast, in a superb, peaceful setting, where you can just relax and enjoy the atmosphere, then Lew Hoad Tennis Village is for you. You do not have to be a tennis player to enjoy it, most of our guests are not!
